This means that\nif you make a taxable payment to Google, you must deduct the tax from the\npayment at the prescribed rate and remit the tax to the Central India\ngovernment.\n\nFor more information about TDS, see\n[Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)](https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/Pages/Deposit_TDS_TCS.aspx)\non the Government of India Income Tax Department website.\n\nTo get credit for the amount deducted, you need to submit a TDS certificate\nto Google. TDS certificates should be submitted every quarter, according to the\ntimeline specified in the applicable Indian tax law. Certificates for quarters\nending in June, September, December, and March must be issued by July 30th,\nOctober 30th, January 30th, and May 15th, respectively.\n\nTDS certificates for the previous financial year will not be accepted if sent\nafter May 31st of the current financial year. For example, all certificates for\nfiscal year 2017 should be sent no later than May 31st, 2018.\n\nTDS credits eligibility\n-----------------------\n\nTDS credits are only applicable to Google Cloud India customers as laid out by\nthe [Terms of Service](/terms/india).\n\nSending a TDS certificate to Google\n-----------------------------------\n\nThis applies to both monthly invoicing and automatic (credit card) payments.\n\nIf you have a digitally signed TDS certificate from the Indian government\n(either electronically signed or a PDF scan of the signed certificate), send it\nto us directly by\n[contacting Cloud Billing support](/support/billing).\nAfter the certificate has been validated and the credit amount has been\napproved, the credit will be added to your account within 7 business days.\n\nIf the TDS certificate is not electronically signed by the Indian government,\nyou can send a paper copy of your TDS certificate along with a cover letter that\nhas your 16-digit payment account number to the following address:\n\nGoogle Cloud India Pvt Ltd \n\n9th Floor, Building 8, Tower C \n\nDLF Cyber City, DLF Phase 2 \n\nGurgaon, Haryana \n\n122002 India\n\nAfter you've sent the documents, contact us by\n[opening a Cloud Billing case](https://support.google.com/cloud/contact/cloud_platform_billing)\nwith the courier delivery receipt details. For a refund, please contact us\ndirectly by\n[opening a Cloud Billing case](https://support.google.com/cloud/contact/cloud_platform_billing).\n\nGoogle's tax compliance in India\n--------------------------------\n\nGoogle has filed the income tax returns for the two assessment years relevant to\nthe two previous years immediately prior to the previous year in which tax is\nrequired to be deducted, for which the time limit of filing the return of income\nspecified under Section 139(1) of the [Income-tax Act,1961](https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/pages/acts/income-tax-act.aspx)\n('the Act') has expired.\n\nAccordingly, Google does not satisfy the definition of 'specified person' as\nprovided under the provisions of Section 206AB of the [Income-tax Act, 1961](https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/pages/acts/income-tax-act.aspx)\nand hence, the higher rate of withholding tax provided in the said Section does\nnot apply."]]
