Hi everyone,

I renewed the Student pack and i still use copilot free and when pressing on Get direct access on the website GitHub Copilot in GitHub Student Developer Pack it take me to the free plan and not upgraded so can you help me claiming the copilot student offer. Thanks.

You can try:
logging out and back into GitHub
checking if your Student Developer Pack is still marked as active
opening the Copilot settings page directly and checking the current plan
waiting a few hours because the benefits sometimes sync slowly

If it still shows Copilot Free after that, I’d recommend contacting GitHub Education support with a screenshot of your active student status.

I tried the log out and back solution and didn't work, so i opened a ticket in GitHub support but i don't know if is this what you mentioned or "GitHub Education support" differs from what i did.

Student Pack and Copilot Pro access can activate on different timelines. First confirm your GitHub Education status is approved at the Education benefits page, then check whether Copilot is listed as included for your account. If the Student Pack is approved but Copilot still asks for payment after a few days, contact GitHub Education support with your account name and approval date; community members cannot manually activate the benefit.

It's been 24 hours after the coupon has applied and 4 days since i sent the application. and yes copilot is included but not activated. so i opened a ticket in GitHub support but i don't know if is this what you mentioned or "GitHub Education support" differs from it.

It also happened to me. My Student Pack was approved but Copilot still showed the Free plan. I waited around 1–2 days, checked that my Education benefits were active, then opened a GitHub Support ticket under Education/Copilot with screenshots. After support synced it from their side, Copilot Pro started showing correctly.

I opened GitHub Support ticket under Copilot/Billing, signup, or activation and provided the screenshots but until now there is no response. i opened it 24 hours ago. can you tell me after how much time they responded at you, and does it differ if i opened the ticket under Education or Copilot ?

For me, 24 hours was still too early. I did not get the useful response immediately; it took around a couple of business days before they checked/synced the Copilot student benefit properly.

I think the category does matter a little, because if you open it only under “Copilot billing” they may treat it like a normal subscription/payment issue. In your case, the problem is that Student Pack is approved but the Copilot Pro student entitlement is not active, so I would keep the same ticket and reply there asking them to route it to the Education/Copilot benefits team.

I would send them these screenshots in the same ticket:

• Student Developer Pack approved page
• Copilot benefit showing as included in Student Pack
• Copilot settings page showing Free instead of Pro
• your GitHub username and the date when Student Pack was approved

I would not open multiple new tickets because it can delay things or split the context. Just update the same ticket with all screenshots and wait 2-3 business days. If there is still no reply after that, then send one follow-up on the same ticket.

Ok, I'll send them a reply to route the ticket to the Education/Copilot benefits team and I already provided them the screenshots.

Hey Samir, can you help me in something?
The support didn't respond till now so I will open another ticket as same as your ticket so after i chose Education it took me to write the problem so what should i choose in (What can GitHub Education assist you with?) to be more specific to my issue ? (I tried to choose the technical bug choice but it won't let me to write and tell me to write the issue in the community here but i did that already)
