This is a System EE team role for Datacenter program based in Taiwan. We're looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team to provide design, test, validation, failure analysis and manufacturing support to our product. The candidate will play a meaningful role in the development of Apple products, collaborating with mechanical engineering, software, testing engineering and other cross function teams.
- You will participate in design and development of next generation Datacenter product from concept to mass production. Day to day tasks involved in electrical design, bringup, debug, and validation for products
- You are the technical contact at OEM site to support various engineering builds. Represent the EE team in a multi-functional team environment. Helping factory with EE related issues and driving post ramp quality issues
- You are able to identify and prioritize EE related issues. Drive resolution of multi-functional issues including those related to architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (schematic design, PCB layout, and overall system integration)
- Good ability for issue summary and reporting
- BS/MS EE with 3-5+ years overall experience
- Solid EE fundamentals, grounded in a proven understanding in Server and Datacenter products, or other cutting edge consumer electronics products.
- Experience in circuit design and debug for a variety of domains including power, digital, analog, high-speed communications, programmable logic, and/or wireless
- Exposure to numerical modeling, simulation, and analysis tools such as SPICE, 2D/3D field solvers, power & signal integrity
- Schematic capture and constraint-drive PCB layout using Cadence tools or similar
- Experience with PCB bringup and debug, including new or custom silicon, using standard EE lab equipment: Soldering, DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English and Chinese
- Demonstrated ability to understand technology and debug problems at varying levels of abstraction, from the server rack level level down to chassis level, further down to motherboard level and silicon/transistor level
- Solid understanding of design and validation requirements for common low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces: I2C/SMBus, SPI, JTAG, I2S/TDM, USB, MIPI, PCIe, HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, Ethernet, DDR Memory
- Solid understanding of power design, especially DC-DC power design, debug and characterization.
- Understanding of computer architecture and design tradeoffs
- Automation and data manipulation script development using Python or Perl
- Data analysis and visualization using Python, Tableau, JMP, R, Matlab
