Okay... I guess it's time to get cracking.. What are the plans? I believe the only thing we've settled on is the venue Chennai. We need the society and bank account and it's being registered/created. I spoke to some folks here and I think we can get some the luminaries to speak if we can cover air faire/accommodation. Status of registration

Hello everyone, As far as I know, the society is not yet registered. We've been sending forms and signing things for quite a while now and the thing is still not done. Srikanth was at the bank today to try to open the account so that we could keep our promise to Janastu and get the money out of their accounts but there was some miscommunication from the branch in Ooty and it didn't go through. So, we've botched this. This is discouraging and I hope it's not a sign of things to come. The management of money was done for 2009 based on goodwill and Janastu's help was very rare and welcome. With this, I don't expect that kind of help anymore. I talked to Srikanth earlier today and he suggested that Janastu cut a DD in the name of the nascent society so that the money is out of their accounts. I'm going to send a mail separately to Dinesh about this. I'm not sure what else needs to be be done about the society, but it really needs to be expedited. The initial suggestion of holding the 2010 conf in September is no longer realistic and we have to shift it into November or December. Kenneth, I believe the the society papers are still with you. Received the MOA

Hi all, Today I received the MOA of the society from Kenneth. I have signed it. There are 2 more signees from Bangalore namely Sreekanth and Noufal. Sreekanth/Noufal - if we can get together this week-end (choose day/place/time) then I could get your signatures and send the form to the next person. Let me know regarding your convenience on this. If any of the other persons are right now in Bangalore or plan to come within 2-3 days, you could sign it right here, otherwise I am planning to dispatch the document to the next person, who is available at his address for taking care of this. Here are the rest of the people (apart from Sree/Noufal) who need to sign the form. committee meeting

hi, we need to have a committee meeting to pass a resolution authorising President, secretary and treasurer to open and operate the bank account. How do we do this? I suggest putting the committee minutes book on the wiki, the notice of meeting there and the resolutions to be passed. Members can vote by adding their names there. In case of need the minutes book can be printed out and kept at the registered office. This means that pycon 2011 will also be in Atlanta. 2012 and 2013 are CA and iirc, they will start the bidding process for 2014 and 2015 soon. Maybe we need to plan something along those lines or atleast discuss cities, how and where to hold future events. Hi, The MOA has now been sent to Hyderabad, to my address. I guess I will receive it today. Or tomorrow. There is an active python community in Hyderabad. As of now, I am the only person who has updated the wiki. Would you want me to sign the MOA and send; or would it be better to get many more people sign it, over a coffee at Barista? Bank account for Python India

Hello everyone, Kenneth had sent a mail earlier about opening a bank account for the society. I don't know if we need the whole society formed and incorporated before we do this but if not, it would be nice to start off right away. Here are the requirements as far as I can tell. - The account should have atleast two people who have complete power over it. We can't have the entire machinery depend on just a single person. - The two people mentioned above should be contactable and preferably in large cities. - The bank should have a major branch in most of the larger cities and definitely one in Bangalore - I think the latter point is important because most of the active members of the society are in Bangalore.
