FYI: I've just installed and tested Piddle (http://piddle.sourceforge.net/) from Bob Ippolito's site (http://undefined.org/python/pimp/ ). It's a neat little plotting/drawing library that I used in Python 2.2 on system 9. Now it works on OS X with Bob's fine tuning. Easy to install. Hi I'm new on this mailing list :-) I work with python on mac os x. For blender 2.25 (3D program, http://www.blender.org) I need python 2.0 support on os x. Does anybody of you have a bin python 2.0 os x package? All I found is python21. The GameEngine in Blender 2.25 only works with python2.0. The compilation from source failed: libtool -o libpython2.0.dylib -dynamic libpython2.0.a -framework System -lcc_dynamic -arch_only ppc -U _environ ld: can't use -U flags when -twolevel_namespace is in effect libtool: internal link edit command failed make[1]: *** [libpython2.0.dylib] Error 1 make: *** [python] Error 2 Unitl now I don't have found a work version of python 2.0 for os x.... thanks yves

iChat channel

I just read on the CocoaDev list that they have a CocoaDev chat via iChat. I feel like someone has been having a massive party and I wasn't invited :-( Is there something like that for mac python development? If not, anyone interested? Maybe something like "MacPythonDev". The thing I like about IM is that you can get quick answers to little questions. A mailing list is great for the big debates and discussions, but the one liners are better handled through chat. Drew

wxPython on 10.3

Hi, was trying to compile wxPython on 10.3, so far the compiling went fine, but doing a python setup.py install resulted in a number of errors. The first one sh: line 1: wx-config: command not found The last one error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 Anyone know how to proceed? Thanks, Arthur.

turtle module

Dear all, I am having trouble with the turtle module on my machine, and wanted to see if this is specific to my configuration (most likely), or a problem experienced by others as well. The basic issue is this: soon after given a drawing assignment, the turtle either becomes unresponsive, or fails altogether and brings Python down with it. By "drawing assignment" I mean something as simple as its own turtle.demo() function: after completing the first square, Python shuts down! While initialisation with turtle.reset() does not cause a crash, the turtle window cannot be closed and is unresponsive. I am running MacPython 2.3 with AquaTk/Tcl 8.4.4 on Mac OS X 10.2.8. Hey, who put that Python in my Xcode?

Ok.. that was easy. I wrote an Xcode plugin that EMBEDS A PYTHON INTERPRETER INSIDE XCODE! This is very interesting.. I'm going to play with this more and clean it up, but this would make it really easy to hack around Xcode internals (god bless Objective C) and add Python specific features, or any feature for that matter. Our Next Generation MacPython IDE might actually *be* Xcode ;) I've put something quick up at http://pythonmac.org/wiki/XcodeIntegration -bob
