Is Django still good to build mordern web apps/sites or is FastAPI the preferred choice for Python

I just recently got back into programming (hobby) and wanted to try and build a website. Django seems to have been around for so long that I'm just wondering if it's still a solid choice for websites/apps using Python. Or is FastAPI a better option? I'm somewhat familiar with Django and how it works, i.e forms, views, models etc but it's been some years now. I don't mind learning either so please include your likes and dislikes. Thanks

OK, I finally got back into the tutor list with my original ID and it recognises me as moderator. I've flushed the queue (only a dozen or so messages). There are apparently 3,600+ members of the list. The moderator UI is completely changed so it may take a while to figure out how it all works but the basics are there. The problem was that the confirmation email was being auto-filtered into a folder I use for Python.org messages and which I'd forgotten even existed. Once i found the folder I found all the messages from the server.
