The Scotiabank mobile app lets you manage, move, and monitor your money using your mobile phone.


When you use Scotiabank’s mobile deposit feature, we will access your device camera to take a picture of your cheque; record the cheque number, account number, institution transit number, and amount; record your device model, as well as its iOS version and manufacturer.


When you download or update this app, or when you apply for, enrol in, or use a service through mobile banking, we may collect information about your computer or device, operating system, internet connection or telephone account, settings, IP address and device locational data, and transaction data, as well as personal information.

Scotiabank's bank systems and customer care is one of the worst. I had to give one start as I can't submit this review without giving that, given a chance I would give, 0 start to them. I have been trying to run behind the customer care for almost a month, they wasted hours and hours of my time. You can't even get hold of anyone. The bank system is faulty and they have no one to solve it. This application has a lot of bug and be aware that you may not get any resolution.

The cheque deposit feature is broken. What used to be incredibly convenient is now a nuisance. I can no longer deposit cheques via the app, I have to physically visit a bank or ATM. It refuses to read cheques properly, giving me a message that the cheque in the photo is either unreadable or doesn't match the entered amount. It isn't just the app. Even when depositing at an ATM, the machine fails to read the cheque. It used to work, but since 2025, this feature has been broken.

Update: Use daily, don't often have many issues. The only thing that's minorly frustrating right now is the "Note" option on the transactions don't save. I've gone in many times to try to add notes as to what reach pay pal purchase was for. It says it's saved, but when you check for the notes, they dont seem to exist. until you restart the app. Easy enough to manage, but I thought I'd mention. 2019: 2 stars, issue with app refresh and loading. (2025-Not an issue anymore)
