Rate and review Google Workspace Marketplace apps

You can review Google Workspace Marketplace apps to leave meaningful feedback and help others find suitable apps. You can only review apps that you or your administrator installed.

What others see

Your reviews, and replies to reviews, are public. Other users can see your review, your name, and your photo (if you set one up).

You canโ€™t add an anonymous review. Only the app's developer can reply to a review.

Review an app

  1. Go to the Google Workspace Marketplace and sign in with your Google Account.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Settings and thenManage Apps.
  3. Click the app you want to review and select the Reviews tab.
  4. Under Rate & review this app, add a rating and review (up to 2,500 characters).
  5. When you're done, click Submit review.

Make a complaint

On Google Workspace Marketplace, a review is your public opinion (with a star rating) about an app's general performance, helping other users choose. However, a complaint is a private communication to Google to report a specific issue like copyright infringement or misleading information that violates our policies. To avoid misleading others, please make a complaint if you have a private, solvable issue that does not reflect the general user experience.

To make a complaint to the app developer about an app, see Get support for a Google Workspace Marketplace app.

To make a complaint to Google about an inappropriate app, see Report an inappropriate app.

Finally, to make a complaint to Google about an inappropriate review, see Report an app review.

Tips and guidelines
  • Keep it readableโ€”Avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation. Remember to use proper grammar and check your spelling. Treat your review with the respect it deserves.
  • Aim for clarityโ€”Post clear, valuable, and honest information. You can include positive and negative aspects in your review to help developers understand what works and what doesnโ€™t.
  • Be politeโ€”Write truthfully, but professionally. You might feel short-term relief to detail your frustrations quickly in a review, but a well-written review usually provides more long-term benefits.
Rating and review policies

Reviews that violate the following policies will be removed:

  • Spam and genuine reviewsโ€”Reviews must be a genuine account of your personal experience with the app or app service and shouldn't be posted to manipulate an appโ€™s rating. Donโ€™t post fake reviews. Donโ€™t post spam or the same content multiple times. And don't write reviews for the same app from multiple accounts.

  • Off-topic reviewsโ€”Keep your reviews relevant to the app or service youโ€™re reviewing. Reviews arenโ€™t meant to be a forum for solicitations, political or social commentary, or personal rants.

  • Illegal contentโ€”Donโ€™t post reviews that contain or link to unlawful content, such as links that facilitate the sale of prescription drugs without a prescription.

  • Advertisingโ€”Donโ€™t use reviews to advertise or publish any promotional or commercial content, including affiliate or referral-based content. Google doesn't allow phone numbers, email addresses, or links to other websites in reviews.

  • Sexually explicit contentโ€”Google doesn't allow reviews that contain, promote, or solicit sexually explicit content. Also, Google doesn't allow reviews that depict or address children in a sexual manner. For this type of content, Google will remove the review, shut down the account, and, where applicable, send a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.

  • Hate speechโ€”Google doesn't allow reviews that promote violence or incite hatred against individuals or groups based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or other characteristic associated with systemic discrimination or marginalization.

  • Offensive contentโ€”Google will remove content that contains obscene, profane, or offensive language or content.

  • Conflict of interestโ€”Reviews are most valuable when they are honest and unbiased. If you own the app or work for the business that created it, donโ€™t review it. Donโ€™t offer or accept money, products, or services to write reviews.

  • Copyrighted contentโ€”Don't post reviews that infringe others' rights, including copyright. For more information, go to the Copyright Help Center.

  • Impersonationโ€”Donโ€™t post reviews on behalf of others or misrepresent your identity or connection with the app youโ€™re reviewing.

  • Personal and confidential informationโ€”Donโ€™t post reviews that contain personal or confidential information, such as an address, driver's license number, or any other information thatโ€™s not publicly accessible.

  • Bullying and harassmentโ€”Google doesn't allow individuals to use the Google Workspace Marketplace to harass, bully, or attack other individuals. Google removes reviews that represent personal attacks on others.

  • Gaming the systemโ€”If Google determines that your review is a part of an organized campaign to affect the ranking of an app, Google will remove your review. Repeated or extreme abuse of these policies will result in further disciplinary action, including a ban on your ability to leave reviews.
How ratings are calculated

Google Workspace Marketplace ratings for apps showing the proportional number of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-star reviews are calculated based on the app's quality ratings from user reviews. This gives users more insight into the app, and a better understanding of its current state.
