Jennifer Simonson

Jennifer Simonson has spent more than 20 years writing for newspapers, magazines and websites. Her journalism career started in a Denver-area city council building as a government newspaper reporter. Since then she has covered everything from economic business development to best travel insurance to the financial impact of the Texas wine economy.

During a seven year break from writing she launched several small businesses including a mobile massage service, a content marketing firm, and an e-commerce store featuring handmade Nicaraguan purses. Through these enterprises, she gained extensive knowledge in managing small businesses, mastered the art of small business marketing and leveraged technology to streamline operations. She now uses this first-hand experience in writing for Forbes Advisor.

When not delving into small business and finance topics, Jennifer explores her passion for travel writing. Her travels have taken her to remote villages north of the Arctic Circle, ghost towns along the Texas-Mexico border and medieval Moroccan medinas. She mostly travels in search of good conversation, tasty ice cream and fast water slides.
