The interface, however, is only in Chinese, so you need to know the language to get the most out of the program. As the AI understands other languages, you can ask it in any language you like, and it will always answer you. The AI that Doubao uses is Seedream, ByteDance's AI, which also generates images.

Technical requirements and resource consumption

As it's an app that connects to external servers to process AI responses, the local installer is relatively lightweight. For the client to run stably and without stuttering, the developers recommend running it on computers with at least 4 GB of RAM, and using an SSD.

My experience with Doubao

After downloading the installer for Windows, I pinned the app icon to my taskbar to keep it handy. I tried to change the interface to English by asking the AI itself for instructions, but it isn't possible, so you have to use the app in Chinese. Outside of that, the app understands requests in other languages, such as English, and you can ask it to generate texts, images, or organize trips for you. The programming tool is also very useful, as it was able to solve a Python problem I had with installing a program on Windows.

What I liked most about Doubao and what could be improved

· What I liked the most: how quickly you can get up the assistant from the taskbar without having to switch windows or open the web browser.

· What would improve: the app is only available in Chinese and censors some things that the Chinese government doesn't want you to ask about.
