Thanks for the report! Unfortunately LanceDB (which this plugin uses for vector storage) has a hard dependency on AVX instruction support — this comes from the underlying Rust binary and can't be worked around at the config level.

A few options:

1. Check VM CPU flags: if you're running in a hypervisor, AVX may be available on the host but not passed through — enabling host-passthrough CPU mode in your VM config often fixes this
2. Verify with: grep avx /proc/cpuinfo | head -1 — if no output, the VM isn't exposing AVX

If AVX genuinely isn't available on the hardware, unfortunately the plugin can't run in its current form. We're tracking LanceDB's roadmap for non-AVX builds but there's no ETA yet.
