Homemade assessment for children aged 2-4 or 2-5.
This is not a scientific assessment or certified assessment. It's simply a set of assessment resources I made myself to use with my children after all the ones I kept finding online were behind walled (paid) gardens. It's meant to give a rough idea of your child's development during early years while being fun for both.
In the UK, there are more formal assessments that take place by Childcare Providers during the Early Years Foundational Stages. The UK Department for Education has also made their own assessment tools available online.
The assessment should be usable in a browser and as printed material.
In the browser, it does not need to save state. The assessor can print the filled assessment as a PDF to keep a record of progress.
Over time, it would be nice to make the browser version more interactive so some of the tests can be carried out on a touch screen like a tablet.
It should broadly cover development across social, literacy, and maths.
Currently it doesn't cover gross motor skills for physical development (e.g. running and jumping) but is something that can be added later if useful.
Early versions of this will be tailored to my personal usage and might contain hardcoded content suitable for me and my kids. If others find this useful, I can try to make it more generic and reusable for others.
