Tkinter layout problem

Hi, Can anybody show me how to create the following, please? My main window has three sections, laid out on top of each other: Label: [Entry] Label:[Entry] Button Text #1 (resizable width and height) Text #2 (resizable width only) I put the top set of Labels and Entry objects in their own Frame, so used the Gridder to stack the Frame and Text objects on top of each other. Anyhow, after much trial and error I'm unable to make the middle Text object resize its height, even after doing a columnconfigure. I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks David

I have a problem (many really), didn't really get too far, hope someone can help. Maybe you can reminisce when your problems were this easy. I got Apache/1.3.26 to run the http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/test-cgi that comes preinstalled. But when I put a very simple python script: #!/usr/lib/python print """Content-type: text/html hello world""" and I point to http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/simple.py the browser replies with an "Internal Server Error". I am new to pyQT and I am trying to subclass this form and add items to the listbox. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? A shelve error: any ideas?

Hi all. Still working on that database program that downloads all available headers from the server into a shelve file. I got this cryptic error, during a download of those headers. I had downloaded 25,246 full headers, and the routine was starting on 25,247, when it crashed for an unknown (to me) reason, apparently having something to do with an error internal to the shelve module. The file it was creating is: -rw-r--r-- 1 mat mat 90058752 Oct 30 15:01 HH.database and was not corrupted. I could access it just fine. the screen had this on it when I came back to check on the output: Creating database entry 25246 out of 27694 Traceback (most recent call last): File "head.py", line 401, in ? database[id] = list File "/usr/lib/python2.0/shelve.py", line 76, in __setitem__ self.dict[key] = f.getvalue() bsddb.error: (0, 'Error') [mat@fortress]$ Any ideas what this error means? relational tools?

I'm looking for information regarding performing relational operations on python native datatypes. As an example, consider the following: I read comma-delimited file into a list then I read the result of an ODBC sql query into another list. I want to then be able to use SQL or a close approximation of it to do select and join queries using the two lists as relational tables. If all the data I needed was in PostgreSQL, I could do this very simply with server-side procedural languages, but I need to get to data from a variety of sources. I could use Gadfly, but I want use the data as it is, not pour it out into another database. I currently have a cumbersome procedural program specific to my needs, but it seems like there must be a more general solution. What is the best approach?
