Blank ASP pages

My server is spitting out blank .asp pages which use python. If Python is not declared, the asp pages work fine. I just yesterday stepped up to Python 1.52 and the new win32all After the install, the blanks started appearing. All the paths look fine in registry. Any clues? Python installation breaks Outlook Express

I just installed Python 2.3.3 under Windows XP professional. After I did, my wife tried to access her email using Outlook Express and got the error messages: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. I checked the settings, then recreated her account in Outlook, but nothing worked. My Mozilla Thunderbird email client worked fine. Since the only thing I had done recently was to install Python. I used system restore to go back to the point before installing Python. After I did, Outlook started working again. Has anyone else seen this behavior ? Thanks. M. Laymon

Running External Programs from Within Python

I'm considering making the transfer from Rexx to Python as a scripting language, but there's one thing I can do in Rexx that I can't seem to do in Python: run an external program. Suppose I have a Tkinter GUI and I want to just push a button and run the Windows utility notepad.exe. Or push another button and run one of my old Rexx programs. Basically I want to send a command line to Python and have it run that command line as if I'm sending it to the Windows command-prompt, an MS-DOS window, or clicking on an appropriate program icon. Can I run (call? exec? eval?) an external program from inside a Python program? I have checked the FAQ and documentation. Thanx, Bob=Moore

ImageWin Dib draw usage?

Hi All, Does anybody has experience working with ImageWin.Dib.draw? I tried to use it to draw in a window in the rectangle return from GetClipBox(). I use the same rectangle for source and destination and the result is a bit strange: a different region from the one expected is displayed. I have looked at the PIL source code. The windows API function used there in StretchBlt. Should that be StretchDIBits? Regards, Lale

serial, parallel and USB port

Hello, Why are there no module to access serial, parallel or USB port in python. This could be great to build front end software to control electronic device or even automaton in industrial process ( or maybe I should ask why the existing third party modules such as pyserial have not been integrated in the official release) Regards,
