There are a lot types of messages(something like service) - and if I change a 'ClassName' class(mostly I don't change - just throw away from db note about it(if time of service ended))- other modules(for instance ClassName2 ClassName3 etc.) work. And if I will edit the main class (which loads them) all services may be down. That's why it is important to make a generalized loader - which loads another class.

python interface to Yahoo groups?

I'm looking for something to monitor & download yahoo group messages using Python, similar to the Perl module WWW::Yahoo::Groups. I've seen a few comments (speculations?) that Yahoo groups uses Python code, but couldn't find any examples of samples of such access tools. Any references or pointers appreciated.

Hi, everyone: I am new to programming and Python and these days I've been working on a tiny program for practice and encountered with a problem. My tiny program read a line from a data file one time, and store it in a list, till the list is full. This is the init. Then when I press Button Start, I want the program will read a line, list.pop(0) list.append(line) in a loop. Thus, make the labels scrolling. I finally found it on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit_status. This is very confusing because the parameter type of the exit function is an int ?!

Don't know whether this works on Windows. What you still don't know is whether this process is actually your process or that the OS has reassigned this pid to something else. HTH Martin

I recognise that this isn't unique to Python, nor the result of anything Python has any control over. However, I keep imagining slash hoping that we might have *engineered* our way around the situation. :-) For example, I clearly don't know what I'm talking about, but might it be possible to bundle the VC redistributable installer with your exectutable, such that if the required DLL's are not already on the user's system, then we run the installer to create them. The logic to do this could be in a PyPI package, or else built into py2exe and similar. Then the application developer would only need to add a single option to py2exe in order for this whole issue to pretty much go away? Or am I misunderstanding?

Hi all, I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and when i tried to install Zope application server with the following , sudo easy_install -i http://download.zope.org/Zope2/index/2.12.1 Zope2 i got an error as shown below, --------------- . . Reading http://download.zope.org/Zope2/index/2.12.1/ No local packages or download links found for zope.browsermenu error: Could not find suitable distribution for Requirement.parse('zope.browsermenu') ------------------ Any suggestions would be helpful . Suppose we have a program that writes its process id into a pid file. Usually the program deletes the pid file when it exists... But in some cases (for example, killed with kill -9 or TerminateProcess) pid file is left there. I would like to know if a process (given with its process id) is still running or not. I know that this can be done with OS specific calls. But that is not portable. It can also be done by executing "ps -p 23423" with subprocess module, but that is not portable either. Is there a portable way to do this? If not, would it be a good idea to implement this (I think very primitive) function in the os module? Thanks, Laszlo
