Play Emoji Game in News on Mac
In macOS 15.4 or later, Apple News+ subscribers can solve daily Emoji Game puzzles by completing words and phrases with emoji.
The object of this logic and word game is to complete several phrases with as few moves as possible. Each emoji may be interpreted directly, through association or in combination with other emoji. When you attempt an answer or expand a clue, it counts as a move.
Note: Emoji Game puzzles are available in American English only in the US and Canada on devices using iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 or macOS 15.4, or later. Apple News, Apple News+ and puzzles arenβt available in all countries or regions. See macOS Feature Availability.
Go to the News app
on your Mac.
Click Puzzles in the sidebar, click Emoji Game, then click a puzzle to open it.
Do any of the following:
Try an answer: Consider the various definitions or associations for the emoji, then drag the most appropriate emoji (or group of emoji) to complete each word or phrase.
For example, a βpearβ emoji π could complete βDISAP_ _ _ _β, but interpreted as βfruitβ, it could complete β_ _ _ _ _ FULβ.
Letters relating to emoji may appear non-consecutively in an answer. For example, dragging an βearthβ emoji π to βL_ _ _N _ _E ROPESβ completes the phrase βlearn the ropesβ.
Interpret grouped emoji as a whole. For example, a single π could mean βfishβ, while π π π might mean βschoolβ.
