Send read receipts in Messages on Mac
You can send read receipts so that people you have a conversation with know when youβve read their messages.
You can send read receipts for all conversations or for just one conversation. If you turn on read receipts for all conversations, you can still turn them off for a single conversationβand vice versa.
Send read receipts for one conversation
In the Messages app
on your Mac, select a conversation.To search for contacts and content in conversations, click in the Search field in the top-left corner and enter what youβre looking for. Or, choose from the suggested contacts, links, photos, and more.
If youβre restricted to sending and receiving messages with only certain people, an hourglass icon
Click the Details button
in the top-right corner, then select Send Read Receipts.
Send read receipts for all conversations
In the Messages app
on your Mac, choose Messages > Preferences, then click iMessage.In the Settings pane, select βSend read receipts.β
