Use iCloud with Numbers on Mac
When iCloud Drive is turned on for your device, it stores your spreadsheets and keeps them up to date on your computers, iOS devices, and iPadOS devices where youβre signed in to the same Apple Account. You always see the latest versions of your spreadsheets, no matter where you made your last edits.
For seamless syncing of spreadsheets, use iCloud Drive and devices that meet these minimum system requirements: macOS 13, iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or later. On your iPhone or iPad, items stored in iCloud Drive appear in the document manager.
You can also use Numbers for iCloud to create and edit Numbers spreadsheets using a supported web browser on a Mac computer or Windows device.
Set up iCloud Drive on your Mac
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
If youβre already signed in to your Apple Account: Click your name at the top of the sidebar.
If youβre not signed in to your Apple Account: Click βSign in,β enter your Apple Account email address (or phone number) and password, click Continue, then follow the instructions.
If you donβt have an Apple Account: To create an Apple Account, click βSign in,β click Donβt Have an Account?, then follow the instructions.
Important: If you forget the sign-in information for your Apple account, you can recover it on the Apple Account website. Though you can have more than one Apple Account, itβs not recommended. Purchases made while signed in to one Apple Account canβt be merged with those made while signed in to another Apple Account.
Click iCloud, go to Saved to iCloud, then click See All.
Turn on Numbers (you may need to scroll down), then click Done.
When iCloud Drive is turned off for Numbers on your Mac, new spreadsheets you create or edits you make arenβt saved to iCloud. Similarly, new spreadsheets you create or edits you make to spreadsheets on your devices or on your other computers arenβt available in Numbers on your Mac.

Spreadsheets you create using Numbers for iCloud are automatically available in Numbers on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad, as long as they are set up to use iCloud and signed in to the same Apple Account. Similarly, if you create a spreadsheet using Numbers on Mac, iPhone, or iPad, the spreadsheet appears automatically in Numbers for iCloud.
Make sure youβre signed in to your Apple Account and are using iCloud Drive.
To check on your Mac, choose Apple menu
Click iCloud, click Drive, click "Apps syncing to iCloud Drive," then make sure Numbers is turned on.
On your Mac computer or Windows device, go to iCloud.com, then sign in to the same Apple Account.
Click Numbers.

Tips for managing spreadsheets across devices
Here are a few things to keep in mind about using iCloud to manage your spreadsheets across devices:
If you edit and then close a spreadsheet when youβre not connected to the internet, you see a cloud icon next to the spreadsheet thumbnail in the Open dialog on your Mac. The next time you connect to the internet, the edited spreadsheet is saved in iCloud Drive.
If you edit a spreadsheet on multiple computers or devices and donβt allow time for your edits to sync, you will see conflicts. If you do get a conflict, you can choose to preserve any or all of the versions. (This applies only to spreadsheets not shared with others.)
If you delete a spreadsheet that someone shared with you, itβs deleted from your iCloud Drive and from Numbers on all your devices. You can click the shared link again to add the spreadsheet back to your iCloud Drive, where itβs again available on all your computers and devices with iCloud turned on.
If you use folders to organize your spreadsheets on one device, the same folder organization applies on all your devices.
If you add a password to a spreadsheet on one device, itβs required to open the spreadsheet on all your devices.
