Connect a Bluetooth braille display using VoiceOver Utility on Mac
Before you can use a supported Bluetooth braille display with VoiceOver, you must connect the display with your Mac.
Note: VO represents the VoiceOver modifier. See Use the VoiceOver modifier.
Open VoiceOver Utility (press VO-F8 when VoiceOver is on).
Click the Braille category, click Displays, then click the Add button
.VoiceOver lists displays that are within range of your Mac and that appear to match a VoiceOver braille display driver. If your display isnβt shown, make sure you set it to be discoverable. Check the documentation that came with your braille display.
In the list of devices, click Connect for your Bluetooth braille display.
A common default passcode is used to connect your display. You can connect one Bluetooth braille display at a time.
If your display is successfully connected, VoiceOver detects your display whenever itβs turned on and within range; if itβs your primary braille display, you can then use it. It remains connected until you remove it from the list of devices.
If unsuccessful, click the Option button that appears, then provide the passcode that came with your braille display.
Click Select.
If the Bluetooth braille display you selected doesnβt work with VoiceOver, itβs likely that its driver doesnβt match a VoiceOver driver. Try connecting a different Bluetooth braille display.
