Collaborate on a playlist in Apple Music on Windows
If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can share a playlist and collaborate on it with others. Everyone can add, remove, and reorder music in the collaborative playlist and react to songs with emoji.
Note: Apple Music isnโt available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Invite others to collaborate on a playlist
Go to the Apple Music app
on your Windows device.
Select a playlist in the sidebar, then select
.
If you donโt see this option, either youโre not signed in to your Apple Account, youโre not subscribed to Apple Music, or the โSync libraryโ option isnโt selected in Apple Music settings: select
at the top of the sidebar, choose Settings, select General, then make sure โSync libraryโ is on.
To approve people before they can join, turn on Approve Collaborators.
If you donโt turn on this option, anyone with the link can join the collaborative playlist.
Select Start Collaborating, then select how you want to share the playlistโyou can copy the link or share it in email.
Note: If you havenโt created an Apple Music profile, enter your name.
Select Done.
If youโre the owner and you turned on Approve Collaborators, notifications appear when a new person requests to join the collaborative playlist.
Add more people to collaborate on a playlist
If youโre the owner of a collaborative playlist, or the owner hasnโt turned on Approve Collaborators, you can share the link to the collaborative playlist with more people.
Go to the Apple Music app
on your Windows device.
Select a collaborative playlist in the sidebar.

next to its name.
Select
, select Generate Link (if necessary), select Share Invite Link, then follow the steps to invite others to collaborate on a playlist.
Select Done.
Manage shared settings for a collaborative playlist
If youโre the owner, you can change access and permissions for individuals or for everyone after youโve started collaborating on a playlist.
Go to the Apple Music app
on your Windows device.
Select a collaborative playlist in the sidebar.

next to its name.
Select
, then do any of the following:
Invite others with a link: Select Generate Link (if necessary), then select Share Invite Link. See Add more people to collaborate on a playlist.
Note: If you didnโt turn on Approve Collaborators, anyone collaborating on the playlist can share the link.
Approve people before they can join: Turn on Approve Collaborators.
Accept request: Select
to allow the person to join the collaborative playlist.
Decline request: Select
if you donโt want the person to join the collaborative playlist.
Stop collaborating on a playlist with one or more people
If youโre the owner, you can remove people from the playlist or stop collaborating on it altogether.
Go to the Apple Music app
on your Windows device.
Select a collaborative playlist in the sidebar.
A collaborative playlist has the collaborate icon
next to its name.
Select
, then do any of the following:
Remove one person: Move the pointer over the personโs name, select
, choose Remove Collaborator, then select Remove.
Stop collaborating on a playlist: Select Stop, then select Stop.
