How do you use com-events..

As you may have noticed.. I am experimenting with Pythonwin and com.. And well after finding more and more docs, examples, I have reached the point so I can use events.. The problem is.. the events wants a class-'definition', not instance.. so assume I have a module myexplorer.py with one class for controlling interner explorer, and one class that takes care of the events.. Theroretically I can have 25 instances of the 'controlling IE' class, how do I know which explorer the event is for when it is called?? /Andy

Turn Read-Only flag off on Win files?

All, I am attempting to learn Python and came up with a 'project'. I want to point the program at a directory on a Win98 Disk, and for each file in all the directories under this directory, turn off the read-only flag. I thought this would be an easy item, but I find I can't even get started. I am completely confused as to how to: A. Tell it to turn off the read-only file attribute B. Loop through all files in the directory C. Loop through all directories under the primary directory Appreciate any hints. Bob

parsing java sources

Has anyone written python scripts to scan through a tree of java source-code, and collect information as to which classes refer to other classes, and print out tables or a graph of that information? A class refers to another class X if it has member variables of type X has local variables of type X has contructor/function parameters of type X calls 'new X' calls static functions of X uses static variables of X inherits from X The last one (inheritance relations) is easily generated in Visual Cafe and some other environments, but the others are more important in trying to understand poorly-designed code. C++ Builder components for Python?

Is there a way to use Python objects from VBScript

I know that Python can be used in Active Server Pages. My question is whether objects defined in one scripting language can be used from another, and specifically, whether Python object methods can be invoked from VBScript. I have a copy of the binaries, although I don't know where they come from, and I don't have the sources. I do have sources for mcurses for python, they appear to be last changed in 1995, so don't know much about compatibility. Looking for web server library.

Anyone see swat the config tool for samba? You run it as a daemon ( or through inetd ). Someone who wants to use it points their broswer at localhost:someportnumberthatiforget and voila you access swat as a web page. I'm looking for a library that allows me to write python applications that interact with a web browser that way. Any hints?
